About John & The 4 Pillars

John's Background

In 2019 John Olivero became a fellow of  the Royal Canadian Geographical Society. Joining many of his role models and mentors to promote Canada around the globe. 


  • A professional adventurer with Ocean Quest Adventures who leads cultural history, diving, and ecotourism trips that introduce visitors to outdoor adventures in Newfoundland. 
  • A diving instructor and cave diver, boat captain, expedition safety specialist, outdoor guide and cultural historian. Leading visitors on ocean based eco-tours highlighting Newfoundland’s unique culture. 
  • John Olivero has served as a safety specialist, diver and camera operator supporting numerous television specials and scientific expeditions in Newfoundland including the 2016 Royal Canadian Geographic expedition of the year,  MineQuest, exploring the Bell Island Mines. 


Why does he do all this?

Yes it is fun, of course.

What are the 4 Pillars of adventure success?

The 4 Pillars are a checklist, that if given some thought, will help anyone who takes on any endeavour that is adventurous to them. The 4 Pillars although designed through years of "extreme" activities, can be used to help plan and navigate any activity outside your comfort zone.
